A wake will be held for Rose Ann on Thursday October 16th from 4-8 PM at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc.

A funeral Mass will follow on Friday 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, with entombment at Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum.

Rose Ann Noble, née Matthews, 77, passed away on October 12, after a brief illness.

Born on June 21, 1948, in Kingston, Rose Ann was the beloved daughter of Anilda and Gerard Matthews. She grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and a strong sense of community that would shape the rest of her life. A proud graduate of Kingston High School's Class of 1966, Rose Ann remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her years.

In 1976, Rose Ann married the love of her life, James L. Noble. Together they built a beautiful life in Kingston, one grounded in love, laughter, and family.

Rose Ann devoted more than four decades of her career to public service at the Ulster County Department of Motor Vehicles. She began in 1966 as a paperwork examiner and advanced through the years as a senior cashier examiner, assistant to the supervisor, and finally as Deputy County Clerk, a role she held with integrity and pride after her appointment in 2005. Her professionalism, dedication and fondness for adherence to rules earned her the respect and friendship of countless colleagues and community members.

Beyond her career, Rose Ann gave generously of her time and talents. She served on the Kingston Housing Authority, was an active member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, a volunteer and Board member for the Hudson Valley Senior Residence and also participated in numerous community organizations that reflected her love for helping others.

Family was always at the heart of Rose Ann's world. She is survived by her devoted husband, James L. Noble; her children, Patrick (Carina) Noble and Stacey (Christopher) Schuon; and the four greatest joys of her life - her grandsons, Colin James, Dillon Leo, Luke Patrick, and Benjamin ("Benny") Lewis. She is also survived by her sister, Mary (Ken) Williams as well as many nieces and nephews from the Williams, Noble, Bannen, and Wurster families.

Her strong faith and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.

Rose Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Anilda, her father, Gerard, and her infant brother Gerard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Kingston Catholic School Musical Theatre Program.
