Rose Mary Ruse was born on January 12, 1937, in Guadalupita, New Mexico, in the family home her grandfather built. Raised by her loving Grandmother Lucinda and Aunt Virginia, Rose was instilled with the values of family, love, and responsibility that would shape her life. After retiring from a successful career in banking, her true passion was always her family—her daughter and two grandchildren, and all the people that became family along the way.

She would be the first to say that she lived a long and wonderful life and she did, never taking a day for granted. Rose married her husband Arnie in 1964 in Nampa, Idaho. A year later they had their only child, a daughter, Shauna. Their journey together took them across various places—Idaho, Mexico, California, Washington—before finally settling in Oregon.

Rose loved the beach and watching the ocean, any ocean and any beach, particularly at sunset finding peace and joy. She loved to read and listen to jazz music. She loved life. Rose is survived by her daughter, Shauna Ruse (Jeff Oliver), and two grandchildren, Sydni and Jordan, all of Camas, Washington. She passed peacefully in her home on February 19, 2025. Her legacy of love, warmth, and life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
