Rose E.E. Simmons

Bloomfield – Rose E.E. Simmons, age 92, passed away January 19, 2025. She is survived by three stepsons and wives; ten nephews and wives; two nieces and husbands; cousins and friends. She was predeceased by two husbands, Warren Schrader in 1983 and Duane "Si" Simmons in 2015; sister, Nellie Dixon; two brothers, David and Louis Dixon.
Rose was born in East Bloomfield and was the daughter of Herbert S. and Amy (Long) Dixon. She attended Bloomfield schools and was a graduate of Bloomfield Central School, class of 1951. Rose worked in the school cafeteria in Bloomfield for 21 years. She was also a Tax Collector for the Town of East Bloomfield for many years. Rose was a member of the East Bloomfield Grange for 78 years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Bloomfield Senior Citizens, Fort Nightly and the East Bloomfield United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Rose enjoyed selling poppies for a fundraiser throughout the Bloomfield area during the Memorial Day weekend.
Her memorial service will be held at the East Bloomfield United Methodist Church at a later date and time to be announced. Interment will be in East Bloomfield Cemetery.
