Rose Marie (Weber) Smasal, age 83, of Chilton formerly of New Holstein, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Abridge Care Cottage in Chilton.

She was born August 12, 1942, in St. Nazianz, to Clement & Margaret (Stiefvater) Weber. Rose attended St. Gregory Catholic Grade School and Kiel High School.

On May 9, 1964, she married Richard Smasal at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. Richard preceded her in death on November 28, 1992.

Rose had worked at the former Leverenz Shoe Manufacturing, Willowdale Nursing Home, and Housekeepers.

Spending time with her grandchildren was what Rose truly enjoyed the most. She also liked to play bingo, going for walks around town, and collecting angels. Rose was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her three children, Sharon Faust (significant other, Richard Platner) of Whitewater, WI, Scott Smasal of New Holstein, and Sandy (Travis) Reseburg of New Holstein; six grandchildren, Danielle Faust and her husband, Spencer Quinnies, Savannah Rathke (significant other, Trent Struve), James Hammerling, Vanessa Reseburg, Dacoda Reseburg, and Devin Reseburg; four great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Colton, Jayden, and Ivan; her sister, Bette (Fritz) Radtke; her brother, Joe (Ginny) Weber; her sister-in-law & brothers-in-law, Kenneth (June) Smasal, Rose Mohnsam, and Allen (Carol) Smasal. She is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard Smasal; her parents, Clement & Margaret Weber; five sisters, Susan (Hans) Mueller, Mary (Fred) Kuhl, Marge (Dick) Lindberg, Jeanne Oury and her first husband, George Radysh, and her second husband, John Oury; and Sarah Weber; and a sister-in-law, Darlene (Gerald) Kornetzke.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:30 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061. Rose will be laid to rest next to her husband, Richard, in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Rose's family at the Sippel Funeral Home on Friday, September 12th from 2:00 PM until 4:15 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial fund to be established. Memorials can be mailed to: Family of Rose Smasal C/O Sippel Funeral Home PO Box 135 New Holstein, WI 53061.
