Rosemarie Rossetti (Fischer) ObituaryRosemarie Rossetti of Morris, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 28th 2025 in Sharon Connecticut after a long illness. She was 82 years old. Born on February 4th 1943 in Babylon, New York. Rosemarie was the daughter of Joseph and Rose Fisher growing up in Long Island and Winchester, Connecticut. Rosemarie was a talented artist and craftswoman developing a deep love for nature, travel, creative expression, early childhood education, gardening and volunteer work. After attending Gilbert High School in Winsted class of 1960, she completed her degree in early childhood education and art at Central Connecticut University. Class of 1964. Rosemarie found her calling as an art teacher in Region 6 introducing thousands of young people from Morris, Warren and Goshen to the beauty of art and the value of artistic expression over the span of her 30-year career. Rosemarie loved camping in our national parks and traveling extensively through the US, Canada and Europe. She was a wonderful cook, loved reading, puzzles, music, her many pets, walking on the beach in Gloucester and Florida, collecting seashells and sand dollars, flower gardening, swimming, colonial stenciling, pottery, photography and creating beautiful stained glass pieces for her family and home. Rosemarie gave freely of her time and energy volunteering many years for White Memorial Foundation and helping run the Morris Scholarship Foundation and their annual Bluegrass Festival every summer. Rosemarie had no greater joy than the time she spent with her family and a close circle of cherished friends. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years Joseph Rossetti of Morris, her children; Michael Rossetti of Morris and Lisa Rossetti of Winchester, her son-in-law Steven Lee of Winchester, and her five grandchildren; Cj, Andrea, Danny, Ben, and Nick, also of Winchester. She is pre-deceased by her sister Elizabeth Bazzano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church in Litchfield on Saturday April 5th at noon. A private burial will be later this spring. Friends and family may call at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home on Friday April 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Rosemarie's family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Alzheimer's Foundation and Morris volunteer fire EMS Department. The family would also like to recognize the many professionals who aided and comforted Rosemarie in the recent past, namely those at Sharon Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Wolcott Hall Rehabilitation, Morris and Litchfield fire EMS departments and hospice of Northwest Connecticut.
