Rosemarie “Rose” Kirby passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 27, 2025. Rose was a beloved daughter, sister, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
A life-long Ohio resident, Rose spent much of her life in Portage County before ultimately calling Akron home. She was a hardworking, dedicated mother of three who cared for her family and friends dearly. Her sons were her pride and joy, and that love extended to her three grandchildren.
Rose enjoyed spending her free time crafting and attending Akron’s local events. Some of her fondest memories were the many days she spent with her friends, whether they were relaxing at home or enjoying live music out on the town.
Rose’s passing follows that of her mother, Billetta Richmond; brother, Mark Richmond; and uncles, Bruce and Keith Hillis. She is survived by her sons, Richard Myers, Jason Murray, and Corey Kirby; three grandchildren, Dylan Myers, Jordan Murray and Rylan Kirby; and siblings Dawn Renee Richmond, Alpha “Bill” Richmond, Gary Richmond, Tina (Richmond) Wilson, and Renee Sambrano.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Toys for Tots, a cause that was close to Rose’s heart.
