Rosemary Bailey, 93, of Verdunville, WV went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. Born on August 22, 1931, in Grayson, KY, she was the daughter of the late Howard Hale and Ercel Burton Hale. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Jack Calvin Bailey. She was also preceded in death by two sisters Helen Cook and Wanda Stover and two brothers Howard Hale, Jr. and Raymond Hale.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathy McGee, also of Verdunville who has been her caregiver, and a son, Jerry Bailey (Debbie) of Williamsburg, VA. She has one granddaughter, Tryna Fitzpatrick (Dan) of Wilmington, N.C., one step granddaughter, Kim Pully (Jason) and one step grandson, Allen Bartram and Tesla Bartram both of Williamsburg, VA. She has 5 great-grandchildren: Alexandra, Ashlynn, and Addison Fitzpatrick of Wilmington, N.C. and Carter and Parker Pully of Williamsburg, VA.
Rosemary was a school secretary at Verdunville Elementary School for many years. She was a member of the Maryetta United Baptist Church where she served as Ladies Circle secretary, Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher, and teacher for the Deacon Youth Group. She served as a Field Worker to the United Baptist Sunday School Convention. She was also a delegate for her church for the Ladies of the Harvest Convention, Sunday School Convention, and the Bethlehem Association.
She and her husband, Jack, both taught classes and directed youth at church camp.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Maryetta United Baptist Church with Pastor Lonnie Gore Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, Tuesday at the church.
Charitable request: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Baptist Youth Camp at Salt Rock, WV.
