Rosemary Kassab, affectionately known as Rosie, passed away on September 21, 2025, in Brownstown Township, Michigan, at the age of 80. Born on September 7, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, Rosie's life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and love for her family and community. As well as a love for laughter, having fun throughout her life and the love of the Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Throughout her years, Rosie touched the lives of many with her warm spirit and unwavering compassion. Rosemary was a retired slot attendant at MGM Casino in Detroit, where she brought joy and laughter to both colleagues and patrons (if she was ever late for work, it's because she was playing Tetris or some small handheld game…). However, it was her heart for the less fortunate that truly defined her. Always young at heart, Rosie was generous to a fault; she never hesitated to drive around refilling blessing boxes, supplying meals to the homeless and inspired others to join her in acts of giving and kindness.

Rosie had a passion for playing card games such as Pinochle/Blackjack and for cooking (even though her eyes wouldn't allow her to read the recipes as well any longer), but it was her family, friends and the church who were the true center of her world. She cherished every moment spent with them, offering her love, care, compassion, and support unconditionally. She absolutely loved playing her organ for her four children, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She loved all kinds of music (which she loved playing at the record store that she opened and ran throughout the eighties), She really enjoyed outdoor music festivals/concerts, dancing, playing games, laughing and having an all-around good time with anyone, and everyone that she would meet along the way. Rosemary touched so many people's lives over the years, there was not a place she would go, without running into a familiar face. She would enjoy talking for hours about any subject. Rosie was a walking/talking Google (if you asked her anything, she knew the answer). She would always have her favorite candy (cinnamon disks) in her mouth and a hot cup of coffee in her hand (6-7 creamers added to the cup first or the coffee would be cold). Every year for Christmas you could expect a multi-flavored popcorn-filled tin and she was very generous with birthday gifts throughout the year.

Proceeded in death by her beloved parents, Frank and Marianna; her eight siblings; her son, Erik Kassab; her daughter, Kimberly Kassab; and her grandcildren, Angel and Cayden. Rosie leaves behind a legacy of love carried forward by her surviving children, Jennifer Kassab and Scott (daughter-in-law Lisa) Kassab. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Kimberly (Sean), Erik (Kaity), Austin, Scotty (Jordan), Corey, Nathan, and Joeseff, as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Levi, Annabelle, Tucker, Isabelle, Noah, Jonah, and Eli.

Cremation has taken place at "The Witness Crematory", located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers (Rosie said she had a dislike for cut flowers because she said they reminded her of a funeral home…), Rosemary requested donations be made to a local homeless shelter of your choosing, the Gleaners food bank, a local woman's shelter, the Downriver Foster Closet or simply going out and feeding a homeless person on the street, in your nearby neighborhood, continuing Rosie's enduring spirit of generosity.

May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her, and may her light continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she left behind. May God's blessings be with you all
