Rosemary Matzdorf

 

Rosemary Matzdorf, age 89, of Redwood Falls passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Garnette Gardens in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023 from St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls, with burial to follow in the St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, December 18, 2023, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are with Nelson-Hillestad Funeral and Cremation Services of Redwood Falls.  In Lieu of flowers donations would be preferred to the Redwood Falls Public Library, Minnesota State Parks, or St. Catherine’s Catholic Church.

Rosemary Korpal, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Ignaszewski) Korpal, was born on September 8, 1934 in Dodge Center, MN. She attended and graduated from Buffalo Lake High School. On June 18, 1955, Rosemary married Lawrence Alfred Matzdorf in Minneapolis, MN and made their home in Redwood Falls.

Rosemary was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls and was involved with CCW, Parish Council Member, Eucharistic Minister, volunteered on Wednesday nights for CCD, money collector for the church, delivered for Meals on Wheels, volunteered as an election register and was a Girl Scout Leader. She loved knitting, walking, camping, gardening, baking, and canning.

She is survived by her children; Mary (John) Ebenhoh of Sleepy Eye, MN, Larry (Katy Gross) Matzdorf of Forest Lake, MN, and Susan (Jeff) Tesch of Bemidji, MN; 7 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Matzdorf in 2004; brother, George and sister, Vicky.
