Known to many as Rose or Rosie, Rosemary Mawn was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Daniel M. Mawn; her beloved children, Heather, Danny, and Emily; and her cherished grandchildren, Mason, Zayden, and Liam. She is also survived by her siblings, Jack, Robert “Bob”, Carol, and Theresa. Rose was predeceased by her parents, John and Marylin Surash and her niece Madeline Gee.
Rose grew up in Spencerport, NY and was a graduate of E.J. Wilson High School. Throughout her life, she held various jobs, but her greatest and most fulfilling role was being a mother and, in later years, a grandmother. She adored her family deeply and was a constant source of love, support, and encouragement.
Rose found joy in gardening, caring for her pets, and cooking alongside her husband. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and loved watching her favorite soaps and a good crime show. Above all, she was a kind, caring, and fearless presence in the lives of those who knew her.
The family extends their immense heartfelt gratitude to Mt. Carmel House for the compassionate care they provided her. They would also like to acknowledge and sincerely thank their family members—Bob & Barb Surash, Colleen, Michael, Tom & Rae Mawn, Karen Littleton, Giuvel "G" Rivera and Bridgett & Paul Gee—for their unwavering support and efforts during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s memory may be made to Mt. Carmel House, 288 Frisbee Hill Road, Hilton, NY 14468.
Interment will be private, and additional arrangements may be announced at a later date by the family.
