Rosemary Diane Rayner, 94, of Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, at Legacy of Marion.
Born in Marion on September 26, 1929, she was the beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth (Duffey) and LeRoy Miller. Rosemary was united in marriage with the late John David Rayner on January 3, 1948.
She is survived by her children: Rosemary Crippen, Marysue Smith, John (Sue) Rayner, and Diane (Jeff) Curren. She was also cherished by her son-in-law, Mike Galyk. Her daughter, Jane Galyk, preceded her in death. Rosemary's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Scott (Donna) Walker, Angela (Frank) Bevilacqua, Sarah (David) Toups, Alycia (Kasey) Mullins, Marc Smith, Amy (Jeremy) Schreck, Eric (Ashleigh) Rayner, Leigh (Pete) Morgan, Michelle (David) White, Mercedes Curren, Michael (Andrea) Galyk, and Erin (Riley) Galyk. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Jacob, Ethan, Mia, Joaquin, Samantha, Lane, John, Reid, Helen, Cameron, Justin, Bryleigh, Aylin, and Winsome.
Rosemary had a passion for dancing with her husband John to big band music and later in life, line dancing at the Senior Center. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and was known for her delicious blueberry pies, cinnamon rolls, and no-bake cookies.
She spent many fulfilling years working for Marion City Schools before retiring. Rosemary was a dedicated member of St. Mary Church, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Marion Senior Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Drive, Suite 270, Columbus, Ohio 43243, The Marion Senior Center, 2375 Harding Hwy East, Marion, or St Vicent DePaul of Marion, 342 North Main St, Marion.
Rosemary will be remembered fondly for her warm spirit, her love of family, and her vibrant participation in her community.
A 10 am Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 19, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 251 North Main Street, Marion. Father Daniel Colby will preside and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
