Rosetta “Rhet” Marmo, 91, of Hurley, NY, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. She was born on July 25, 1934 in West Shokan, NY, daughter of the late William and Frances (Sicari) Colange. Rosetta was married to John Marmo, they wed on May 1st, 1954 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Kingston. John passed away on September 30, 2009.
She was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1951. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church in Kingston. Rosetta enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, playing tennis in her younger days, playing her guitar, and traveling.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Whitcomb of Hurley, and John C. Marmo of Hurley, and his girlfriend Stephanie Cook, Dr. Augustus Guarente, her son in law, her three granddaughters, Dr. Juliana Guarente and her husband Padraic Devincentis, Maria Whitcomb and her husband Iain Standing, and Rose Whitcomb, as well as her brothers, Anthony Colange of Palm Desert, CA, William Colange of Canyon County, CA, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by her daughter, Maria Guarente, and her sister, Louise Stevens.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family will gather. Friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, November 19th at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 242 Wall Street, Kingston, NY 12401. Burial will follow in Hurley Cemetery, Hurley, NY.
