Kenneth Houghtaling, 58, of Lake Katrine, NY, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at home. He was born on May 21, 1967 in Kingston, NY, son of Nancy (Tomer) Houghtaling and the late Carl Bruce Houghtaling.

He was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1985, and later graduated from Ulster County Community College, Class of 1990. He then attended NC State University and Marist College where he received his Paralegal Degree in 2007 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Science in 2008.

Ken had an extreme love of cars and was an excellent car salesman. He worked for Leith Audi in NC and could sell a car to anyone and everyone. He worked for IBM at Research Triangle Park in Raleigh, NC. He later worked as the Showroom Manager at Security Supply in Kingston, NY. Ken enjoyed traveling, especially to Key West, FL and loved his many friends and family and fur babies. He also enjoyed skiing and loved a great snow storm. He was also a huge Star Wars Fan. He loved all of his grandmother’s paintings and enjoyed life to the fullest. Ken was the life of the party and could tell a story like no other.

Ken is survived by his mother, Nancy Houghtaling DiMicco of Kingston, NY, his sister, Alice Houghtaling Struber and her husband Brian Struber of Tillson, NY, his nephew, Thomas J. Bell of Tillson, NY, his step brother, Justin K. Struber of Lake Katrine, NY, and his step grandmother, Barbara Struber of Ulster Park, NY. In addition to his father, he is predeceased by his partner, James Canning, Jr. who passed away on June 2, 2022, his grandparents, Esther F. Houghtaling and Kenneth N. Houghtaling, as well as his beloved dog, Ralphie and cat, Hoolee.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Monday November 10, 2025, from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will take place at 1pm with burial following in Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston. A tribute for Ken can be found at www.KeyserFuneralService.com, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family.
