Kevin Brooks

Tillson - Kevin Brooks, 65, a long time resident of Tillson, NY entered into eternal rest suddenly on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Kevin worked as a Respiratory Therapist for HealthAlliance/Kingston Hospital for the past 44 years. He won the PHIL Award for outstanding service in 2021. This is the only nationally recognized program which honors outstanding Respiratory Therapists. Nominations come from patients, family members and other caregivers. Kevin devoted his life to the care of others, not only in his profession, but also in his community. Kevin served those who served our Country by being a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 1219 for the last 21 years. He has served as Squadron Commander since 2011. Kevin loved all types of music and he especially loved vacationing on Block Island and Maine with Charlene. Kevin loved sports both playing and watching. He was an avid golfer and a dedicated hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Cross Mountain Gun Club and the Lake Katrine Gun Club. Kevin was an All State football player for Kingston High School proudly wearing the #55.
Kevin is survived by his lifelong partner and love of his life, Charlene Brought. He is also survived by his brothers, Gary, Wayne (Kathy) and his sisters, Linda (Jim), Gail and Karen. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Madeline Brooks.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 5, 2025, 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale, NY. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Rev. David Jolly, National Chaplain for the Sons of American Legion will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosendale Plains Cemetery, 793 Springtown Road, Tillson, NY. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Legion, Post 1219, P.O. Box 203, Tillson, NY 12486.
