Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ruegg Funeral Home - Greenville on Dec. 16, 2025.
Rosetta Vandergriff, 93, passed away December 14, 2025, at The Villas in
Jackson, MO. She was born January 15, 1932, in Kime, MO, near Greenville to parents John Franklin and Fannie Bell (Allen) Clubb.
Rosetta was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a lifelong resident of Wayne County before spending the final two years of her life in assisted care. On September 27, 1950, she was untied in marriage to Wilber "Gene" Vandergriff and they shared sixty-one years together prior to his passing in 2011. As a homemaker, she worked alongside her husband, growing large gardens, canning vegetables, assisting with a multitude of chores, and actively and cheerfully serving with church activities.
Until her recent decline in health, she was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Silva. Anytime food was needed for a church function she would provide several dishes, especially her pineapple cake. For many years, she read her Bible daily, reading it through yearly, leaving behind as evidence a well-worn and marked book. She lived her life by its precepts and teachings, and will be remembered as a gracious, Christian lady who loved her family and a good laugh. The one word that most people described her by was "sweet."
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband; brothers: Clyde, Carl, and Franklin Clubb; sisters: Ruby White and Betty Fox.
Rosetta is survived by her sons: Larry Vandergriff and wife Rhonda of Jackson, Rob Vandergriff and wife Debbie of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren: Justin Vandergriff and Trevor; Ethan Vandergriff; Stephanie Galloway and husband Cameron; great-grandchildren: Mason, McKayla, and Madison; great-great-grandchild: Emery; brothers: Leon Clubb and wife Dorothy of Greenville, Leroy Clubb of Maplewood; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her legacy of compassion, dedication, and service will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
The family would like to thank the folks who visited, sent cards, and otherwise supported Rosetta. A special thank you to Dr. Andy Gayle, and the entire staff of the Villas and Crown Hospice who both went above and beyond providing excellent care.
