Ross Hutter Obituary

Visit the Greenwood Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.
Ross Allen Hutter, a man known for his quick wit, adventurous spirit, and warm friendliness, passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on July 24, 1969, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, Ross's life was as colorful and spirited as his birthplace.

Ross was the cherished son of Julius Hutter Jr. and the late Georgia Koons Hutter. He leaves behind to treasure his memory his sister, Temple Hutter; his nephew, Jacob Hutter; his niece, Christian Kates (Brian); his great-nephew, Brady; and his great-nieces, Kennedy, Elizabeth, and Madeline Kates. He is also lovingly remembered by Regan Janfreau and Jenna Thomas (Fred), whom he embraced as bonus children; his uncle and aunt, Barney Koons (Melanie); and his cousins, Angelle Koons and Louie Lauga.

Ross was preceded in death by his adoring wife, Candy Hutter; his grandparents, Julius and Florence Hutter, and George and Peggy Koons; his cousins, Michael Taylor and Barney Koons; and his great-niece, Charlotte Adaline.

Ross navigated life with a sense of humor that could light up any room. His stories-often laced with humor, charm, and just a hint of mischief-became legendary among family and friends. To say Ross was the life of the party would be an understatement-he was the party. His tales were award-worthy, his escapades unforgettable.

Ross wrote his own script in life, adding punchlines and plot twists at every turn. Though he will be deeply missed, the joy he brought into the world ensures that his spirit will continue to live on in every shared story and every hearty laugh.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM.
