Ross Wayne Mattlage, age 69, entered through the golden gates of Heaven, Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Born on August 13, 1955, he was the son of Orville Mattlage and Nadine (Moennig) Mattlage, who preceded him in death.
Ross was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Freistatt, MO, where he was baptized, confirmed and married. He attended school as a youngster at Trinity Lutheran School, and graduated from Verona High School with the class of 1973.
He met his dear Jane at the Freistatt Church picnic. One year later, on May 17, 1974, Ross married his love, Jane Landoll.
Ross is survived by his wife of fifty years, Jane; his daughters, Amy Mattlage and Erica Johnson and her husband Matt. Ross loved his four grandchildren, Shayla, Brady, Jaxon and Layni. Ross is also survived by two sisters, Carol Mattlage Durbin and Susan Mattlage Jenkins and husband Marty; and a niece, nephew and wonderful host of family and friends.
Ross was a lifelong farmer and was proud to receive the American Farmer Degree in FFA. He was also owner/operator of Mattlage Trucking, Inc., for thirty years.
He loved to fish and hunt everything. His passion for guns and weapons was his hobby of a lifetime. He also loved to tell silly jokes and had the ability to remember them.
Following his request, Ross will be cremated. He has asked to be buried at Lee Cemetery next to his family's century old farm on Spring River, Verona, MO. No services are planned and private family burial will be at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
