Roxanna Lynn Hoffman, 70, of La Mesa, California, passed away on 24 August 2023.
She was blessed to her parents, Roy and Billie De Turi, on February 9th, 1953, in San Diego, California.
She graduated from Helix High School in 1971.
She went on to study English Literature at the University of San Diego and graduated with a BA. She completed her education with a Master's Degree in Education from San Diego State University.
Roxanna taught English at Torrey Pines High School before becoming a wife and mother, which became her motivation for enduring the many health challenges throughout her life.
Her love for children extended past her own, as she became the Safe Kids Coordinator at Children's Hospital. She fought to protect children from their car seat safety to their bike helmets. Ensuring that children are safe from e-coli to triggers being locked on handguns.
After a number of years of service, she retired from Children's Hospital in 2006.
Throughout her life, she devoted her spare time to her local PTA and broadened her reach to the National Conference. Roxanna was honored to be elected, to PTA's 9th District as President and other elected positions.
Roxanna met Philip at Helix High in 1970. They were married on August 2, 1975 at the beautiful Prado in Balboa Park in San Diego, CA. Together they raised two daughters: Darcy, and Jennifer.
Roxanna is survived by her husband of 48 years, Phil Hoffman. Daughter Darcy Ito, her husband Paul and their three children, Brayden, Landen and Bela. Also, daughter Jenny Hoffman, her partner Adam Robinson, and their children, Hannah and Isaac.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for October 27, 2023 at Nan Couts Cottage at 4 pm.,
located at: 5045 Memorial Drive, La Mesa, CA 91942
With a reception to immediately follow at the same location.
