Roy W. Anderson, 88, of West Salem, died Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Danbury Senior Living, in Wooster with his family by his side.
Roy was born July 13, 1934, in West Alexander, PA to Roy B. and Mary M. {Boyd} Anderson.
He married Alice S. Russell on April 29, 1954. She died December 14, 2018.
Roy was a dairy farmer in West Salem. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served in the ministry to the Amish people. He enjoyed being productive, spending time working around the farm, and spending time with his family. Roy was a member of the Northwestern Ruritan Club and volunteered at People to People Ministries.
Roy will be deeply missed by his children Richard (Dianne) Anderson, Sylvia (Andrew) Crafton, Tim (Karen) Anderson, and Mary (Mark) Johnson; grandchildren Richard (Brittany) Anderson II, Matthew (Laura) Anderson, Megan (Paul) Hagseth, Michael (Charnel) Anderson and Jennifer Anderson, Cameron (Sara), Chris (Samantha), Colton (Lauren), Corey (Hannah), and Chad Johnson; great-grandchildren Katie, Reagan, and Luke Anderson, Clara Hagseth, Noah, Oakley, Chloe, Ivy, Casen, RayLynn, Marley, and Peter Johnson; great great-grandchildren Jeremih and Justus Cassell, Kennedy and Kingsley Snyder.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, brother Donald Anderson and sisters Ann Bonar and Virginia Rush Morgan.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Services will follow at 11 at the church with Pastors Stephen Olsen and Mark Barrios officiating. Burial will be at West Alexander Cemetery. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
