Roy Nils Carlson, age 95, passed away peacefully at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. He was the son of the late Nils and Ada (Wight) Carlson.
Roy was born on January 22, 1930 in Roslindale and was raised in Hyde Park. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War and earned his Bachelor's degree at Northeastern University in Boston. He and his wife Lovell Marie (Fawcett) were married in Hyde Park on June 9, 1951 and in 1961 they moved their family to Foxborough, a community that he held dear to his heart.
Roy was employed as an electrical engineer for Camp Dresser and McKee of Boston. A skilled woodworker, he enjoyed helping his children repair and renovate their homes. An avid reader, he enjoyed reading books of science and engineering. He enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled airplanes. In his younger years he enjoyed riding bikes, fishing, and sailing with his children.
Beloved husband of Lovell Marie (Fawcett) Carlson. Devoted father of Christine M. Carlson of Wrentham, Lynn C. Carlson of Westborough, Mark Roy Carlson of Shrewsbury and Lisa B. Carlson of Grafton. Loving grandfather of Alicia and her husband Eddie Chibaro and their son Carmen Roy, Ian and Sean Dorsey and Kerri Strobeck. Brother of the late Gary, Donald and Teddy Carlson.
