Roy attended Onondaga Valley Academy in Syracuse, NY, working in the automotive industry from age 15. He was the owner-operator of RC Automotive in Fort Pierce, FL, retiring in 2005. Roy's lifetime passions included auto racing, boating, fishing, woodworking, and old-time country music. He loved dogs and cherished his two poodles, Alf and Pebbles.
He was predeceased by his parents, Helen Curran Carrigan and Roy Ian Carrigan, Sr., and son-in-law, Robert Fairbanks. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Ballard Carrigan; sister, Barbara Carrigan of Bridgeport, NY; daughter, Lori Fairbanks of Lakeland, FL; sons, Larry Carrigan (Melissa) of Lakeport, NY, and Donald Carrigan of East Syracuse, NY; stepson, Brian Carrigan of Glen Burnie, MD; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and 7 nieces and nephews. No services are planned, and a private cremation will take place.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Humane Society of St. Lucie County or Treasure Coast Hospice. Arrangements by Yates Funeral Home & Crematory Services.
