FORREST: Roy Ashley Forrest was born January 25, 1942, to parents Lloyd and Rose Forrest in Kinston, North Carolina. He went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. Roy graduated in 1960 from Berwick High School (Berwick, LA). During six years of military service in the United States Air Force, he worked as a mechanic on the flight line. He earned his Bible degree from Baptist Bible College (Springfield, MO) in 1971. He was a loving husband to Jean, his wife of nearly 60 years. He is survived by his wife Ola Jean Forrest, brother Alvin Forrest (wife Elena) of Miami, Florida, sister Anne Moore of King George, Virginia, daughters Angela Galyan of Jacksonville, Florida, Debbie Throndson (husband Tate) of Castle Rock, Colorado, Stephanie Walters (husband Dave) of Raleigh, North Carolina, grandchildren Brittany Sipe, Tiffany Sipe, Chase Throndson, Caden Throndson, Kyle Walters, Madison Walters, and great-grandson, Jadyn Sipe. Dr. Forrest was a church planter, pastor, and educator for over 50 years. He loved the Lord, his family, and his church with all his heart. We are thankful that he shared God's love with so many, and we find comfort in knowing he is now with his Lord and Savior. Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM in Southpoint Baptist Church with Dr. Terry N. Collins and Pastor Tate M. Throndson officiating.
