Roy L. Gossett, 88 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025 in Gautier, MS.
He was born on November 30, 1936 in Opelika, AL but grew up in Phoenix City, AL. He joined the United States Air Force at the age of seventeen. He was stationed at Keesler AFB and was honorably discharged in 1957. Immediately upon his dischargement, He was hired on in US Civil Service working in Radar Technology and later Computer Engineering at Keesler AFB. He worked in both fields for forty years and oversaw all Air Force Radar Technical Training before he retired. He spent his remaining years in Ocean Springs caring for his family. During his years on the MS Coast, he earned multiple degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Gerry; daughters, Karen, Tanya, and Lynn; and sister, Shirley.
He is survived by his sons, Larry Gossett, David (Christine) Gossett, Tommy (Denise) Sellers, and Michael (Vivian Rowell) Sellers; grandchildren, Roy III, Jessica, Steven II, Stefanie (Brad) Foster, Cindy (Joey), Kristinia (Trent), and Kaitlyn (Joey); and seventeen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
