Roy Grubb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Dec. 9, 2025.
Roy Lenial Grubb, beloved husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and a proud United States Air Force veteran, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the age of 77
Born in War Eagle, West Virginia, on June 20,1948, Roy spent his formative years in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he graduated from Great Bridge High School. It was there he met his future wife, Carolyn, with whom he shared a devoted and enduring marriage.
In 1967, Roy answered the call to duty, proudly serving in the United States Air Force. His military service took him and Carolyn to Merced, California. Following his service, the couple lived in Chesapeake, Virginia, for twenty-five years before making their final home in New Bern, North Carolina, for nearly 30 years. Roy dedicated his civilian career to supporting the defense industry, holding positions at the Naval Aviation Depot (NADEP) in Norfolk, Virginia, and the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, from which he retired in 2011. He remained a dedicated patriot and was an active member of the American Legion, serving as sergeant at arms.
Roy's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Grubb; his loving children, Amie Seigle (Harold) and Ryan Grubb (Alicia); his three cherished granddaughters; and his brother, Kevin Grubb (Debbie); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts who will miss him dearly. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Reynard Grubb, and his mother, Virgie Grubb. Roy will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his strong work ethic, and his deep commitment to his family.
The family will receive friends and family for a visitation at Graham Funeral Home in Chesapeake, Virginia, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service with full military honors will take place at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia, on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. To leave a condolence to the family please visit Grahamfuneralhome.com
