Roy Ollie LaFray of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center – Saginaw, at 77 years old. He was born on January 8, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan. Roy was a graduate of Buena Vista High School with the class of 1966. He attended Central Michigan University for 3 years. Roy was married to Claudia K. (Gregory) LaFray. He worked for General Motors/SMCO as a pipefitter for 40 years until retirement in 2009. Roy loved sports and participated in baseball, football, golf, bowling, and was a referee for high school sports. Roy was a member of the Pulaski Club, Moose Lodge #82, Eagles Aerie #497, American Legion Post #439, and MHSAA Bay Metro Officials Assoc., and the UAW 668.
Roy leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Claudia LaFray; a daughter, Wendy (Scott) Campau; a son, Todd LaFray; four grandchildren: Sophia and Jace Campau, Lillian and Alainna LaFray; and his two brothers: Ron and Brian LaFray.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Phyllis LaFray and three brothers: Dennis, David, and Richard LaFray.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the 5th floor at MyMichigan Medical Center – Saginaw for all the love and care they provided to Roy, as well as the family.
Honoring Roy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Roy’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw, MI 48609. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
