Roy worked many different jobs such as a bus driver, construction, newspaper delivery, but his heart was in Silversmithing and Church Ministry at Carson Faith Assembly. He enjoyed old timey country and gospel music. He often listened to singers like Hank Williams Sr. He enjoyed watching western movies starring John Wayne and, of course, he was a huge Dallas Cowboys
Roy was preceded in death by son, Troy Platero; Daughter, Devona Platero; Parents, Richard and Rachel Platero; Brothers, John Johnson, Joe D. Sandoval, Chester Platero, Robert Platero; Sisters, Penny Platero, Patricia Boeckner, Ida Johnson; Grandchildren, Myron Platero, Braxton Perkins.
He is survived by Wife, Pauline Platero; Daughters, Verna Platero, Earlene Jackson, Marlene Day; Grandchildren, Reggie Jackson, Raina Perkins, Kaycie Johnson, Vannah Peterson, Savannah Whitehair, Brandon Platero, Richard Johnson, Maychel Platero, Chelsea Knotchapone, Demetrich Knotchapone; Great Grandchildren, Alonzo Jackson, Atleigh Velarde, Alyssa Velarde, Taliah Velarde, Danielle Johnson, Kaleb Johnson, Lily Peterson, Charlie Peterson, Jackson Peterson, Nevaeh Whitehair, Matthias Whitehair
