Roy Burton Sturgis, 50, of Kingsland died June 21, 2024 at the Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. Born October 25, 1973 at Fordyce, he was a son of Edward Sturgis of Kingsland and the late Ann Sturgis.
Roy is survived by his pride and joy, his daughter, Hanna Sturgis of Fordyce, who he loved with all his heart; two sisters, Angelia Sturgis and Sarah Sturgis of Jacksonville; one brother, Eddie Ray Sturgis of Nacogdoches, TX; step-son, Braydon Pennington, who he always thought of as his own; and Braydon's daughter, CourtLeigh Pennington.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Graves Cemetery.

Although I did not know Mr Sturgis my heart breaks. Growing up in a neighboring county I visited and had many friends in Fordyce. My prayer is God to grant you peace and bring you comfort in the days weeks and years to come.
