Mr. Royce W. Burns
September 12, 1951 ~ December 25, 2025
Royce W. Burns, a cherished and inspirational figure within the Grand Ridge community, took his final bow on the peaceful Christmas morning of December 25, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on September 12, 1951, in Marianna, Florida, Royce's journey was a testament to a life rich in devotion and service.
The light of the Burns family, he was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Johnnie Burns and Louise Young Burns, and a host of siblings, Lucille Sexton, Nell McDaniel, Doris McAlpin, Hazel Bamburg, Helen Estes, Bernice Sexton, and Hubert Burns. Royce's legacy will continue to thrive through his cherished surviving family members: his loving sisters, Ouida Baxley (Ronald) and Joyce Medley (Ernie), his dear brother, Rufus Burns, and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, and beloved friends whose lives he touched profoundly.
A man of conviction and generosity, Royce was a steadfast member of the Cypress Grove Assembly of God, where his presence was synonymous with kindness and unwavering support. His commitment to his faith was evident in his tireless contributions, ever present to lend a hand on a project. He was known as a giver, a doer, a true servant of God.
Royce's life was a beautiful reflection of his priorities: faith, family, and community. He showered his family with love, cherishing every moment spent with them. The echoes of his laughter during family gatherings, the warm embraces, and the sparkle in his eyes when he spoke of his nieces and nephews will be held close to the hearts of those who loved him.
As we bid farewell to Royce W. Burns, we also celebrate the life he led and the countless lives he brightened. His spirit of generosity, will forever illuminate the pathways of Grand Ridge and beyond. Though he has left our sight, the essence of what he stood for - love, charity, and fellowship - will never be forgotten.
A service celebrating his life will be held at McAlpin Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 beginning at 11:00 AM Central Time. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Dellwood, FL.
