Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jobe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.-Plum Chapel - Monroeville on Nov. 11, 2025.
Rozanne B. Wilson, lover of every four legged creature and occasionally 2 legged ones, passed away surrounded by family, memories, and probably some dog hair that no vacuum could ever truly conquer. Rozanne was known as Ma, Mommy, Grandma, Great Grandma, Aunt Rox, and Rosie Belle. Rozanne was the beloved wife of Thomas S. Wilson, her partner in patience and dogs for 55 years. Together, they built a family of love and stubbornness. She is survived by their daughters Shelley Wilson (Bill Demerath deceased) and Kimberly Connolly (Raymond Connolly). Rozanne is survived by four grandkids: Asha Shanti Gershman (Murphy Gershman), Maize Connolly (Lillian Musil), Shaddai Demerath, and Keshava Demerath. She is survived by 2 great grandchildren, Avery Gershman and Caden Gershman, who will grow up hearing countless stories about their extraordinary, although slightly dog-obsessed, Great Grandma. Rozanne is also survived by her 2 sisters, Sara Bird (Richard Bird) and Suzanne Purnell (George Purnell), several nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Rozanne will also live on through her lifelong best friend, Linda Stevens. She was a proud Penn State graduate, graduating with a Master's degree in Biology Education (Go Nittany Lions!). Rozanne taught biology, anatomy, and physiology at Churchill High School. She was a Pittsburgh Zoo Docent during her summers off from teaching. She later ventured into politics working for the Allegheny County Board of Commissioners. After this, Rozanne went on to the Allegheny Health Department, where she retired from. Rozanne truly found her calling with animals when she launched All Aboard Mobile Pet Grooming. If that wasn't enough, Rozanne was the Director of the Pennsylvania Wildlife Center. In her spare time, she studied and became a Master Gardener. Her final and most cherished mission was STOP: Sad Tails Of PA, her beloved animal rescue. Through this labor of love she saved and re-homed countless furry souls, proving again and again that she loved animals more than most people, and frankly, who could blame her? Rozanne leaves behind a legacy that can't be measured in years but in wagging tails. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Monroeville Animal Shelter or better yet, rescue a furry friend in Rozanne's honor. She'd say that's the only kind of reincarnation that really matters. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 28th 2025, at 1:00 pm at the CORE Event Center, 100 Colony Drive, Irwin, PA 15642. To send online condolences please visit
