Clayton was born on December 8, 1938 in Vivian, Louisiana to Dennis Clayton Boyter and Edna Pauline Whitehead Boyter and passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in Shreveport.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mattie Frizzell Boyter; his sister, Elizabeth Trouth; and brother, Wayne Boyter. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Rhonda Boyter of Rogers, Arkansas and Denise Reynolds of Fayetteville, Arkansas; granddaughters, Katelyn Reynolds and Sarah Hays; great-grandson, Truitt Jay Hays; and brother, W.E. “Dub” Boyter.
Our loving, lovely and so-loved Papaw left this earth after a lengthy illness. We will miss him immensely along with his smiles, chuckles, hugs and the full attention we always got from him. Well, that is, until his precious granddaughters showed up on the scene—they took center stage in his heart and life from Day 1! Whatever they wanted or needed, he always delivered (same as he did for us) and they were his boss from the get go.
Our Dad taught us so many useful tips and some mischievous ones too! He passed on his lead foot driving habits to Rhonda and then became a co-conspirator in keeping secret many of my speeding tickets from Mama. Denise (also known as his actual favorite according to her) shared his love of football, and they watched games together often with the sound off, which I never understood.
Our parents were married for 62 years, and they are now together again. We are sure Mama was waiting on him to arrive so she could direct him on where to be and give him a list of things to do. They are both missed dearly, and we are content they are together again on their cloud party.
