Ruben Webb, 95, of New Lexington died Friday, July 29, 2022, at Genesis ER, Somerset, following a brief illness. He was born December 30, 1926, in Paintsville KY, the son of Lawrence and Susie (Vanderpool) Webb. He married Barbara Ellen (Blair) Webb who preceded him in death.
Ruben served his county as a veteran of the United States Army during World War II. He was a coal miner retiring following many years in the mines. Following his retirement he enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, he especially enjoyed building bird houses.
He is survived by five sons, Ruben (Ruth) Webb, Jr., Kenneth R. (Dottie) Webb, James D. (Paula) Webb, Paul R. Webb and John D. (Robin) Webb; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Amy and her husband David and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ruben was preceded in death by three daughters, Lillian Howell, Donna Lee Webb and Judy Spicer; one daughter-in-law, Carla Webb and four sisters, Ruth, Margaret Sue, Leora and infant baby, Sara.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August, 2, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Roberts Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor James Anderson officiating. Ruben will be laid to rest beside his wife in New Lexington Cemetery, where John Tague American Legion Post 188 will conduct full military honors.
