Ruby Jane (Murphy) Beatty, 97, of Fulton, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, at Fulton Nursing and Rehab Center, surrounded by her loved ones.
Ruby was born on September 15, 1927, in Salem, Missouri, to the late John Henry Murphy and the late Gladys Irene (Hunt) Murphy. On March 17, 1946, she married the love of her life, James Willard Beatty, who preceded her in death on May 22, 2008.
Ruby worked 32 years for International Shoe Company and later served 17 years at Fulton State Hospital in the dietary department. In addition to her career, Ruby was a devoted member and deacon of the First Christian Church, where she volunteered her time and heart. She also gave generously to her community through her work with the Clothes Cupboard, Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts. Her life was one of service, faith, and deep love for her family and community.
Ruby's memory will be cherished by her sons, James Nyle Beatty (JoAnn) and Noel Lee Beatty (Virginia); her sisters, Marylou Atkinson and Kathleen Sprague; her brother, Ned Murphy (Scarlett); her grandchildren, Miranda McCray (Lucas) and Ian Beatty (Kaia); and her great-grandchildren, Tucker James Beatty, Finn Lewis Beatty, and Mia Ann McCray, Henley Crews McCray, Callum Lee McCray. She is also remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dale, Lindy, Donald, and Jimmie, as well as her sisters, Jerl Dean and Delphine.
Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 11:00 am with Pastor Bruce Williamson and Pastor Will Ryan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fairview Cemetery in Ruby's honor c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd, Fulton, MO 65251.
Her legacy of kindness, strength, and service will live on in all who knew and loved her.
