Ruby Christine Ehrenberg, 80, of Scandinavia, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025. She was born on May 20, 1945 in Iola, to Albert and Mauritta (Mork) Mortensen. Ruby married Norman Ehrenberg on October 20, 1962 Hitterdahl Lutheran Church in Iola.
She met Norman while working at Sinclair Restaurant in Waupaca as kitchen help. Later she was walking down the sidewalk, he stopped and asked her to the West Bloomfield Chicken BBQ. They were married 5 months later. When their oldest son turned 5, she started working at Moore-O-Matic in Waupaca. Over the 24 years employed there, she made many lifelong friends. After retiring, she babysat for 7 wonderful "kids". She enjoyed the many dress up plays they would perform for her. The many memories still brought her a smile. Each Halloween, she would host a pumpkin carving party, where you were sure to see pumpking goo all over the kitchen. Easter was egg hunts for all the kids. Grandkids definitely brought some of her greatest joys.
Ruby loved vegetable and flower gardening. She always said, if you add a flower bed, it would be less lawn to mow. She sewed clothing and costumes for her children when they were young. After retirement, her hobbies changed. She enjoyed rummage sales and teaching her grandkids it was ok to have ice cream for lunch. She had goals of scrapbooking the many family memories. Ultimately, this turned into more a hobby of collecting scrapbooking supplies. Ruby enjoyed camping with old friends, as well as making new friends while camping, She gave the best hugs and showed kindness and love to everyone.
