Ruby Bonnell Henderson Hawkins

Ruby B. Hawkins, 92, was born and lived most of her life in Summerville, Georgia. Living more recently in Marietta, GA, she died on October 1, 2025, in Dallas, GA, after a sustained illness. She was predeceased by her former husband, Joseph T. Hawkins; partner, Lional Harris; son, Steven Hawkins; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Luther Davis (Delcie) Henderson; and brother, Henry D. Henderson. She is survived by sons Tom Hawkins (Jean), Marietta, Ga., Jeff Hawkins (Diane), Acworth, Ga., sisters Betty Mahafey, Dallas, Ga., Charlotte (Pete) Hawkins, Cartersville, Ga., Darlene (Tony) Bearden, Summerville, Ga., and Jimmie Woodard, Summerville, Ga. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews in Georgia and Arizona. Ms. Hawkins loved to read, was an accomplished and published writer of poetry, and enjoyed painting and quilting. Many of her poems and paintings referenced or portrayed her grandchildren. There will be no formal service. She will be deeply missed.
