"When peace like a river attendeth my way…"

Sis. Ruby Jewell Jones was born on April 30, 1948, in Marshall, Texas, to the late Ora Lee Ward and Allen Ward Sr. She peacefully entered eternal rest on September 18, 2025, at the age of 77.

Ruby was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She attended the public schools of Harrison County. Ruby loved spending time outdoors, and one of her greatest joys was fishing. She was known for her lively spirit, her fun-loving nature, and the joy she brought to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora Lee Ward and Allen Ward Sr.; her three brothers, Allen Ward Jr., James Ward, and Eddie Joe Ward; and one sister, Rosie Bush-James, all of Marshall, Texas.

Ruby leaves to cherish her memory: four sons, Eric (Tamika) Robertson, Darrell Robertson, Edwin Robertson, and Jacovie Jones; one daughter, Lashan Jones; and one goddaughter, Anita Chalmers Randle. She also leaves behind four sisters, Annie Chance, Dorothy (Ray) Edward, Sharon Daniels, all of Marshall, TX and Cynthia Ann (Earnest) Woolridge of Longview, TX.

Ms. Ruby leaves host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever treasure her love and legacy.

Her home was always a place of warmth, filled with laughter, good food, and open arms for anyone in need. Ruby's legacy of love, faith, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." – Proverbs 31:28-29
