Ruby Traves Obituary
We are saddened to announce that our sweet Mom, Ruby Traves (nee Everett), died peacefully on August 15, 2023 at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. Beloved spouse to Wilfred Traves (deceased). Treasured mother of Lynn Whelpdale (Doug), Deb Jeffrey (Dell) and Cathy Hawn (Kim). Dear grandmother of Rebecca Zak (Dave), Jordan Codack (Jessica), Ben Metcalf (Jessica), Vanessa Metcalf (Liz), Alyssa Hawn, William Hawn (Abby) and Caleb Hawn (Wren). Great-grandmother of Zoë, Xavier Zak; Mason, Tanner Codack and Aubrey Hawn. Dear sister to Sheila Burtoo. Predeceased by siblings Margaret Everett and Albert Everett. Loved daughter of Mary and Hubert Everett.
Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home. The Funeral will take place on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Bracebridge Salvation Army Community Church. Reception to follow. Interment will take place a little later at Fraserburg United Cemetery at 4:30 pm.
Mom was a lifelong resident of Bracebridge. She was well known and loved by many. For us, she represented home and our hearts are broken.
We’d like to thank Dr. Lees and all the staff at SMMH for their exceptional care of Mom.
