She is preceded in death by her parents, Wiley C. and Lola (Key) Waters; her sister, Margaret Waters; and her brothers, John, David, Jess and Sam Waters.
Ruby is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard Barbee; her children, Lamar (Keysha) Barbee, Kim (Shea) Johnson; her grandchildren, Ashlynn Barbee, Will Johnson, and Samantha Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, Enzly and A'nyzah.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
