Rudy Henry Haferkamp III, aged 55, passed away on September 10, 2024, in Jacksonville, FL. Born on December 25, 1968, Rudy was a beacon of love and unity, known for his contagious smile and generous spirit. He had an enduring love for the ocean, surfing, soccer, and had a particular fondness for classic cars.
Rudy graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1986 and later pursued higher education at Florida State College at Jacksonville. He proudly served in the US Army, assigned as a tanker but will always be recognized as an honorary scout with E Troop 2/11 Black Horse. In addition to his military service, Rudy embarked on a 25-year career at UPS, where he held various positions before his retirement.
In his free time, Rudy was a skilled craftsman, enjoying woodworking, custom designing skateboards and stickers as well as building bikes from scratch. He was also an avid thrifter, always on the lookout for unique items to share with family and friends. Rudy was a man of Christ and a member of the Marked
Church on Phillips Highway in Jacksonville.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Haferkamp; daughters, Chloe and Isabelle Haferkamp; stepchildren, Brian Adams, Joanne Rodriguez, Judi Adams, Gabriella Tollett, and Deanne Murray; stepfather, Thomas Anson, Sr.; brothers, Thomas Anson, Jr. and Radd Haferkamp; and three step-grandsons. Rudy was preceded in death by his father, Rudy Haferkamp II, and mother, Marie Anson.
