Mr. Rufus Lee Graham was born October 3, 1953 in Dillon County South Carolina. His parents were the late Rachel Graham Brown and the late Lee Grant Jones. Rufus was raised in the home of the late Henry and Nona Graham. At one point in life he lived with the late Sally Mae Winslow, his aunt, until he had to be placed in the Harborview Nursing Facility in Lumberton, North Carolina. This is where he passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025.

Rufus attended Southside High School in Rowland, North Carolina. He was converted at an early age and joined Mt. Pleasant AME Church formerly known as Cotton Valley. His cousins would often ask him to repent and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. At our urging he would say OK, but I'm not doing anything. We would laugh and say "We know that you are not doing anything, but we all have to repent often and ask God for forgiveness. To this, he would just stare at us and say "OK".

Rufus was employed at several jobs but his dream job was at South Of the Border. His face would light up when time came for him to go to work. He loved his job and his co-workers as well. At times we would pass through and blow the car horn at him. That would make him so happy, he would throw up his hand, waving at us. "Monk" as we called him sometimes, was a very unique person, quiet, caring and stayed to himself. He also loved his family.

Left with precious memories are 2 sisters, Daphine Jones of Atlanta, GA and Donna Jones of Jacksonville, Florida; his aunt Margartree Graham of Rowland, North Carolina; nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends whom loved him dearly.
