Rumaldo Sanchez Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, spouse, and friend, passed away on September 15, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he was born on January 30, 1946, in Albuquerque. He leaves behind a rich legacy of love, hard work, and a vibrant spirit that touched everyone he met.
Rumaldo dedicated a significant part of his life to serving his country in the US National Guard, where he proudly retired after 26 years as an E6 Staff Sergeant. His commitment and discipline during his military service were a testament to the strength of his character and his boundless dedication to the values of duty and honor.
After his military career, Rumaldo found his calling at Yellow Freight Trucking, where he was affectionately known to his co-workers as "The King." His presence at work was not just about the job; it embodied camaraderie and respect. Rumaldo’s work ethic and passion set an example and provided inspiration to many within the industry.
An Albuquerque High School graduate, Rumaldo cherished education and shared his knowledge and insights with his family and community. He was not just a diligent worker but also a father who deeply valued the relationships he built with his children.
Rumaldo is survived by his daughter Denise Sanchez , son Louie Sanchez, daughter Cristial Sanchez, spouse Linda Hernandez; who carry forward his warmth and tenacity. His legacy also lives on in the hearts of his grandchildren, Gabriella Gonzales, Carlos Montano, and Andrew Perea, Desiree Sanchez who will forever remember him.
He is remembered by his beloved sister, Ruth Saiz, and brother, Ray Sanchez. Though he has been reunited with his deceased family members—his father, Rumaldo Sanchez Sr.; his mother, Eloida Sanchez; and his sisters Beatrice and Sostena, brothers Jerry, Raul aka "Bullets", and George —his vivid spirit will continue to echo through the laughter and memories shared among his family and friends.
As we say farewell to Rumaldo Sanchez Jr., we celebrate a life well-lived, a man who dedicated himself to both his family and his community. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, dear Rumaldo; your legacy of love and strength endures in the hearts of many.
