Russell Leonard Brown

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Russell Leonard Brown, age 66, on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Russ passed away peacefully at home, after courageously fighting a brief battle with cancer.
Russ was born and raised in Vinton, Iowa, where he spent most of his life. Shortly after graduating from high school, he earned his CDL license, beginning what would become a lifelong career as a truck driver-a job he took great pride in.
In 1985, Russ met the love of his life, Deborah, and together they were married, becoming an instant family. Their love and partnership were the foundation of a beautiful life built on laughter, hard work, and shared adventures. They supported each other in everything, from raising their family to traveling the country together.
From an early age, Russ had a deep passion for cars and motorcycles, which led him to build his dream car of a Ford Mustang by hand. His love of craftsmanship and attention to detail shone through in every project. He enjoyed showing his work at car shows, proudly winning multiple trophies. That same passion later expanded into the world of semi-truck shows, where he and Deborah competed nationally, earning several top awards, sponsorships and featured in multiple trucking magazines.
Russ also had a lifelong love of Harley-Davidsons and the freedom of the open road. Some of his favorite memories were made taking motorcycle road trips with his brother, surrounded by good friends, good music, and the wind on his face.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, big heart, quirky sense of humor, and love for the open road. He cherished the simple pleasures-sharing a laugh with friends and spending time with family.
He is survived by his daughters Tifany (Anna) Grilley of Mustang, OK, and Shannon (Robert) Everett of Central Lake, MI; grandchildren Justice, Faith, Katlyn, Arden and Kaizen. brothers Scot (Carri) Brown of Wiggins, CO, and Toby (Lori) Brown of Vinton, IA; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Russ was preceded in death by his loving wife Deborah, daughter Tracey, parents James "Jim" and Betty, and his grandparents.
A celebration of life and graveside service will be held at a later date in Iowa to honor Russ's memory.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Elara Caring Hospice and Dr. Stefanie Meredith for the compassionate care, guidance, and support they provided during Russ's final days.
The road may have ended here, but Russ's journey carries on in the hearts of those who loved him.
