Russell Franklin Corbin

Russell Franklin Corbin, 72, of Winchester, VA, went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 8, 2025 at his residence.
Russell was born September 9, 1952 in Winchester; son of the late, Sylvester and Margaret Ruth Meadows Corbin. He attended Rosedale Baptist Church. Russell worked for Stuart M. Perry until his retirement.
Russell loved Nascar, spending most of his weekends at Winchester Speedway, music, (especially Elvis and Johnny Cash), fishing on the river, and most importantly his family.
He is survived by his son, Herbie Coffelt and daughter-in-law Erine of Winchester; sisters, Linda Corbin, Betty Armel, Darlene Tinsman and Helen Jones; many nieces and nephews, and his fur babies, Winny and Roxie.
Russell is preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Beatley, James Beatley, Robert Corbin, Henry Corbin, and Charles Corbin and his sisters, Claudia Henry, Patricia Catlett and Mary Morris.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Russell's neighbors, especially two very special children, Everett and Makenzie who continually gave him joy and light in his life, by spending many days with him making treats, doing crafts and playing games, which kept him young at heart.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 at 10:30 am at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester with Minister Dawn Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery in Hayfield, VA.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Allen, John Mongold, Lonnie Hitchock, Mike Johnson, Austin Leach, and Herbie Coffelt. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Corbin and Chuckie Corbin.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Russell Corbin to the Winchester Area SPCA, 111 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, VA 22601.
