Russell "Russ" Fergerson, age 57, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 14, 2025, at 11:11 a.m. at
the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Russell was born
December 19, 1967, in Pineville, Kentucky, to the late Franklin Curtis Fergerson, Sr. and Ruth
Whiteside Fergerson. He gave his life to Christ at an early age at Bethel Baptist Church. A proud
graduate of Pineville High School, Class of 1985, Russell was a student-athlete who played
football, baseball, and basketball. He attended Eastern Kentucky University and pledged Kappa
Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc ('89) - a brotherhood he treasured throughout his life.
On June 14, 1996, Russell married the love of his life, Michelle (Jodi) Ingram. Together for 34
years and married for nearly 29, their union was a beautiful reflection of the love as described in
1st Corinthians 13:4- "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast." Their
marriage was grounded in mutual respect, deep commitment, and a shared desire to love one
another the way God intended-selflessly, faithfully, and with grace. Their journey was a
testimony of walking in love and unity, trusting God through every season of life. Russell and Jodi
were blessed with three children-Dorian, Devynn, and D'Syaa, the joys of his heart. In 2007, the
family began serving faithfully at Consolidated Baptist Church.
Russell was employed by Toyota Manufacturing in Georgetown, Kentucky, since 1994. He was
known not only for his strong work ethic and problem-solving skills but also for his warm, uplifting
presence. His smile could light up any room, and his generous spirit made a lasting impression on
all who met him. Whether at work, at home, or in the community, Russell was always willing to
lend a hand, offer encouragement, and extend kindness. He found joy in life's simple pleasures-
spending time with family and friends, cheering on his Tennessee Vols, and working with his
hands fine-tuning a car or tackling home improvement projects. Russell was preceded in death by
his parents, and his beloved brother, Franklin Curtis "Curt" Fergerson, Jr. He leaves to cherish his
memory his loving wife, Jodi, and their children. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Cindy
Fergerson; nieces Brooke Fergerson, Aysia Hairston, and Tyana Porter; nephews Jerome
Fergerson and DeMarctorius Porter; great-nieces Jaidan Fergerson and Zemira Porter; great-
nephew Deonte' Fergerson; and his beloved mother-in-law, JoAnn Ingram. He will be fondly
remembered by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family, fraternity brothers, best
friends, coworkers, and all who knew and loved him.
In the words of Paul in 2nd Timothy 4:7–8 (NLT) Russ has fought the good fight, he has finished
the race, and he has remained faithful. And now the prize awaits him- the crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the
righteous Judge, will give him on the day of His return. And the prize is... for all who eagerly
look forward to His appearing.
Russell Fergerson's life was one of quiet strength, devoted love, and meaningful impact. He will
be deeply missed, but his legacy of faith, family, and integrity will live on in all who were blessed
to know him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Ferguson family during this challenging time. While the biblical perspective teaches that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, this truth does not lessen the sorrow felt by those who remain. In facing this profound loss, let us draw strength and solace from our faith and reliance on God. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love,
Hammer, Jr., Jennifer, and Austin!
