He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Goerner, son Russell Goerner Jr. and his daughter-in-law Desiree Goerner, and his grandson Samuel E. Goerner. Russell was preceded in death by his father, Russell L. Goerner.
Russell was known for his love of food, iced coffee and tequila, his sense of humor, and his passion for cooking, listening to jazz music, fishing, watching the Giants play football, and cars. Despite his quiet demeanor, he was always the life of the party. He adored his grandson and son and cherished spending time with his family. Originally from Wayne, he later moved to Cedar Grove, where he could always be found working on something he was passionate about or finding the best snack.
Russell also known as Pops or Pop-pop will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. A Funeral Mass is planned for Wednesday, 12:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 339 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. Cremation was private. Keith was a sweet boy. He will be missed. I have many fond memories of family gatherings when he was little. May our good Lord take good care of him. Love, Aunt Jo.
