I've known Russ for over 40 years and was deeply saddened when I received word yesterday, 18 April, of his sudden passing. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.....may Russ rest in peace.

We had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Russ at the Shady Oak Campgrounds 3 years ago. He was always very kind and helpful. He always had great tips for a couple of neighbors that didn't know a lot about camping!!! We send our thoughts and prayers to the family.

Our deepest sympathy to Susan and all of Russ families. We met Russ 4 years ago at Shady Oaks Campground. He would stop by and visit every weekend. Have conversations about various topics that we enjoyed together. Helping each other on occasion and he always shared his vegetables from the garden he had growing in the back. Such a kind man. He will be missed.

Rusty aka Russtafarian aka camp dad... His heart was always in the right place. Always willing to help out where he could. The True North always stocked with whatever you may need. Even the marching set of all 4 colors of the 1970's skillets. We've had many great memories shared. The pumpkins and squash planting talks. The hunting, fishing and even got a few card games in there. You knew when his last hand of cards for the night was, because he was eating and going all in in the dark with his card hand. Which many times he won and he had to keep playing.
He was taken too early from us and he will truly be missed.

Russ was a fixture at deer camp. His "True North" camper always set up lakeside and his cooler stocked for the opener. He loved to grill various meats and was a Polish sausage connoisseur. He was my wife´s canning buddy and they shared recipes for many years. He has a generous soul that will last an eternity.
