Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson, age 78, of Rittman, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Barberton Hospital, following a period of declining health.
Russell was born on June 29, 1946, in Rittman, Ohio, to the late Edgar and Viola (Ball) Wilson and was a life resident of Rittman. He attended Rittman Schools and worked as a Boilermaker for many years before retiring. He married his loving wife, Irma Korom, on July 28, 1977 and she survives.
Russell was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church in Creston and Boilermakers Union 744 in Cleveland. He loved traveling in his motor home and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yardwork, feeding the birds and his dog, Angel, his loyal companion.
In addition to his wife, Irma, surviving is daughter, Sheila Wilson; several grandchildren; two sisters, Patsey Busbee, and Wanda Renneker; and brother, Jim Wilson.
He was preceded in death by both his parents; brothers, Homer L. Wilson and Clarence E. Wilson; and sister, Donna Lemmon.
Friends may call on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
Services will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the funeral home, with Gene McNealey officiating. Burial will take place at the Rittman Cemetery in Rittman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
