Rustico Terrado Lomibao, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and retired U.S. Navy Veteran, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Philippines, Rustico devoted his life to service, discipline, and family. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years, achieving the rank of Mess Specialist Second Class (MS2). Throughout his naval career, he demonstrated unwavering dedication, resilience, and loyalty to his country-qualities that continued to define him long after he retired.
Outside of his military service, Rustico found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time in his garden, tending to his plants with care and patience. He was also known for his love of line dancing, a passion that brought him happiness and kept him active and smiling.
Rustico was a presence in the lives of his family. Preceded in death by his wife, Carmencita. He is survived by his children: son Ronald Lomibao and his wife Joy; daughter Marie Katon and her husband Eric; and his cherished granddaughter, Chloe Katon. He is also survived by his siblings, Andres Lomibao and Alejandra Sommer.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00am on Tuesday 1st July at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel,1457 Independence Blvd, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Burial with military honors will take place at 12:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6329 E. Virginia Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia.
Rustico's legacy will be remembered by those who knew him.
