Ruth Elaine Anderson passed peacefully on August 15, surrounded by family, having enjoyed a long life of music, laughter, and love. She was born to Lawrence and Lena Brown, on June 28, 1940, in the Midway Valley between Sidney and Savage, Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother Robert, and her husband Bob who passed on the same date fifteen years prior.
Ruth Brown Anderson was widely known as a gifted pianist, whose talents were once described as "the ministry of angels." She was an appreciator of ice cream, a board game enthusiast, and a priest in the Community of Christ church with the ability to find humor in life's many developments. Above all, she was known for her strong love of her family, devotion to her faith, and her belief in the worth of all persons.
Ruth attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA where she earned her diploma and met her husband, Bob. She then moved to Missouri to complete clinicals and become a Registered Nurse. She worked in the Missouri cities of Independence, Kansas City, and St. Joseph until she retired with Bob and moved to Sun City West, AZ. After his death she returned to the Midwest to be nearer to her family.
She is survived by her children and their families: Bradd (Deidre), Jennifer (Matthew Lerch), Jay (Diana) and grandchildren Olivia Anderson-Davis, Jesse Anderson, and Ellery Anderson. Per her wishes, a celebration of life will be held with friends and family at a future date with an ice cream party and piano music.
