Ruth Isabel (Finkenbinder) Armolt, 95, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at UPMC Carlisle.
She was born April 17, 1927, in Newville to the late John Elmer and Edna Jane (Baughman) Finkenbinder. Ruth was the widow of Richard Elmer Armolt to whom she had been married for 57 years when he passed in 2008.
Ruth retired from C.H. Masland & Sons / Lear Corp. after many years of employment. She enjoyed playing on their softball team with her coworkers. In her younger years, Ruth enjoyed roller skating at the former Meadowbrook Rink. She was a member of the former St. James Lutheran Church in Bloserville. In her free time, she liked completing crossword puzzles, word searches, and working puzzles. Ruth could often be seen outside caring for her lawn even on the hottest days of the year.
Ruth is survived by her loving son, Ricky L. (wife Sharon) Armolt of Carlisle; two grandchildren, Benjamin Armolt of Carlisle and Meredith Armolt (husband Aaron Hoover) of Seffner, FL; four siblings, Doris Nickle, Jay (wife Joyce) Finkenbinder, Shirley (husband Don) Heishman, and Roy (wife Carolyn) Finkenbinder all of Newville; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Mildred Bistline, Glenn Finkenbinder, Lee Finkenbinder, Marie Zeigler, June Baum, Ethel Chestnut.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. Burial will follow at Westminster Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruth to the Tree of Life Church, 50 K Street Carlisle, PA 17013.
