Ruth Evelyn Collins, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025, at her home in Pearl, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the funeral service beginning in the chapel at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ruth was born on January 5, 1938, in Brandon, Mississippi, to Owen Boone and Maggie Burnham Boone. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, and cooking breakfast for her family, especially her homemade biscuits, and she was an avid Ole Miss fan. She loved her family and cherished her role caring for them as mother and grandmother. Ruth was also a member of McLaurin Baptist Church in Pearl, where she faithfully attended the Ruth Sunday School Class.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Collins; son, Joey Collins; and twelve siblings.
Survivors include her children, Terri Williamson (Tony), Kevin Collins (Sandy), Steve Collins (Connie), and Tim Collins; grandchildren, Nikki Lewis, Katie Taunton, Chris Collins, Tyler Williamson, Joey Collins, Owen Collins, and Evan Collins; ten great grandchildren (and one on the way); brother-in-law, Guy Collins (Melba); and sisters-in-law, Eula Mae Jenkins, Jeannie Collins, and Carolyn Collins.
